Vote Now For Your Favourite Green School

Keep Britain Tidy has joined forces with Teachers TV to discover the best green initiatives that are taking place in schools across England.

Nominations are closed and four finalists have been selected in the ‘How Green is Your School’ competition by our team of judges, including Andrew Suter, Education Projects Manager at Keep Britain Tidy. It is now up to the public to decide which school should win the £1,000 prize money by going to www.facebook.com/TeachersTV to make their vote.

Each of the four schools has been visited by a Teachers TV film crew to capture some of the best projects taking place in their school. These are ready to view online, to help you decide who should win.

The schools were selected for their intrinsic approach to sustainability and include projects such as wind turbines, biodiversity butterfly counts, eco-surveys, recycled fashion parades, a biomass boiler and eco-doorways to name but a few!

Andrew Bethell, Chief Executive of Teachers TV said: “There are so many fantastic green projects that are taking place in our schools across the country. This competition has given schools a platform to showcase their work, to ensure it continues.”

The finalists are Ringmer Community College, Dorothy Stringer School both based in Brighton, St John’s Catholic Primary School in Southwark and St Edmund Campion Catholic Primary School in Maidenhead. Voting closes at 23.59 on Friday 18 June, so get online now and make your vote count.
